  • New CMS rule modifies EHR meaningful use for 2015

    11/19/2015 - In October, the CMS released a final rule (with comment period), specifying the criteria that eligible professionals (EPs) and eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (EH/CAHs) must meet to demonstrate meaningful use of EHR. These changes encompass modifications to the program for 2015-2017 (Modified Stage 2), as well as Stage 3 in 2018 and beyond. Updates to the MAPIR will be required, which will affect submission of all meaningful use applications.

  • IHCP reminds transportation providers about ICD-9 vs ICD-10 requirements

    10/06/2015 - Transportation providers must use the appropriate ICD indicator and the appropriate ICD diagnosis codes when submitting paper claims and via Web interChange. The ICD-9 indicator and ICD-9 diagnosis codes must be used for DOS before October 1, 2015. The ICD-10 indicator and the ICD-10 diagnosis codes must be used for DOS on or after October 1, 2015.

  • IHCP reminds all providers about default ICD indicator on Web interChange

    10/02/2015 - Providers must use the appropriate ICD Indicator and the appropriate ICD diagnosis codes when submitting claims via Web interChange. The ICD-9 indicator and ICD-9 diagnosis codes must be used for DOS before October 1, 2015. The ICD-10 indicator and the ICD-10 diagnosis codes must be used for DOS on or after October 1, 2015.

  • Web interChange outage impacts PE applications September 5-8, 2015

    09/24/2015 - The IHCP's Web interChange tool was unable to process eligibility transactions and Presumptive Eligibility (PE) applications from Saturday, September 5, 2015, through Tuesday, September 8, 2015. At a qualified provider’s request, the eligibility date for members whose PE applications could not be successfully transmitted during that time frame will be backdated to reflect the date the initial processing attempt was made. Requests to correct effective dates must be received by October 2, 2015.

  • Web interChange outage impacts PE applications September 5-8, 2015

  • Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Catamaran, joins with OptumRx

    08/06/2015 - On July 23, 2015, the Indiana Health Coverage Program’s (IHCP’s) fee-for-service (FFS) Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), Catamaran, combined with Optum’s pharmacy care services business, OptumRx. The combination of Catamaran and OptumRx will operate as OptumRx. Providers will begin to see communications and related PBM material referring to OptumRx as the IHCP FFS Pharmacy Benefit Manager.

  • Mark your calendar for the IHCP 2015 Annual Provider Seminar

    08/04/2015 - The IHCP 2015 Annual Provider Seminar is scheduled for October 13-15 in Indianapolis. This year's seminar will highlight how the IHCP's new claims processing system, CoreMMIS, will enhance claims submission, provider enrollment, and prior authorization.   • Nursing facility rates to be published by October 1, 2015

    08/04/2015 - Contrary to earlier Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) publications, nursing facility (NF) rates for the quarter beginning July 1, 2015, are still being determined. These rates will be finalized and posted on the Public Notices page of the Myers and Stauffer LC website at in.mslc.com by October 1, 2015.

  • Time frame for enrolling in HIP dental provider network extended to June 30, 2015

    05/21/2015 - In Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) Provider Bulletin BT201508, dated February 5, 2015, currently enrolled IHCP dental providers were given until April 30, 2015, to complete the provider enrollment and credentialing process with DentaQuest in order to participate in the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) dental provider network. The IHCP is extending that grace period through June 30, 2015.

  • Publication of nursing facility rates pending

    05/19/2015 - The nursing facility reimbursement rates for the quarter beginning July 1, 2015, are still being finalized. The rates will be finalized and posted on the Myers and Stauffer website by July 1, 2015. See the Public Notices page of the Myers and Stauffer LC website at in.mslc.com.

  • PE and HPE qualified provider training opportunities still available

    04/28/2015 - Acute care hospitals, freestanding psychiatric hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), rural health clinics (RHCs), community mental health centers (CMHCs), and local county health departments interested in becoming qualified providers (QPs) for Presumptive Eligibility (PE) or Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) can still register for the virtual training webinars coming up in May.

  • PE approval letters serve as proof of temporary coverage

    03/24/2015 - The State is aware that some members are presenting for pharmacy and other services before their PE status is visible to providers in the IHCP Eligibility Verification System or in the MCEs’ pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) systems. Please be aware that an original PE approval letter is sufficient to validate temporary coverage even if the member is not listed in the appropriate eligibility system.

    03/10/2015 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has rescheduled its provider workshop at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for April 9, 2015. The original workshop was canceled due to weather.

  • PE and HPE qualified provider training scheduled for March

    03/03/2015 - Acute care hospitals, free-standing psychiatric hospitals, FQHCs, RHCs, CMHCs, and local county health departments interested in becoming qualified providers for Presumptive Eligibility (PE) or Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) are invited to attend a virtual training webinar this month.

  • Provider workshops scheduled for March 2015

    02/12/2015 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) is offering one-day educational workshops to providers throughout the state during the month of March.   • Medical, dental, and crossover Part B claims processing inappropriately

    01/06/2015 - HP has identified an issue with the claims processing system. This issue affects claims processed December 24, 25, 26, and 29, 2014. Claims may have been inappropriately paid or denied. HP began reprocessing and mass adjusting claims associated with this issue December 24, 2014. Providers will see adjusted and reprocessed claims appear on Remittance Advices (RAs) dated January 6 and January 13, 2015.
